The ProCure™ System
ZERO GUESSWORK.
At Firebird, durability and finish quality are our top priorities. Powered by Sherwin-Williams industrial-grade materials and rigorous surface preparation, our professionally installed ProCure system ensures a flawless finish that won’t peel, mark or pull up from hot tires, or wear down under daily life.
MATERIALS THAT ACTUALLY LAST FROM A BRAND YOU KNOW AND TRUST
We proudly use Sherwin-Williams Pro Industrial™ High Performance Epoxy
Pro Industrial™ High-Performance Epoxy delivers strong adhesion, chemical resistance, and abrasion resistance. Engineered to withstand heavy traffic and daily wear, this epoxy coating helps maintain surface appearance in demanding conditions, supporting long-term durability and extended service life.
Polyaspartic is tailored for settings that demand both rapid installation and enduring protection, polyaspartic coatings are known for their quick cure times. Unlike some traditional coatings that yellow or discolour from exposure to sunlight, polyaspartic coatings retain their vibrancy, ensuring floors remain visually appealing for extended periods. Sherwin-Williams polyaspartic floor coating products encapsulate efficiency, durability, and aesthetic finesse, offering an all-encompassing flooring solution that meets the diverse needs of modern spaces.
Three ProCure™ processes:
Step 1: Surface Preparation (Day 1)
Proper preparation is the most critical step to ensuring maximum adhesion for our ProCure coating system. We start by mechanically grinding the concrete with handheld and walk-behind units and shot blasters, paired with HEPA-filtered industrial vacuums to capture nearly all dust. This process strips away existing coatings and surface contaminants, opening the concrete’s pores and creating a clean, textured matrix that allows our coatings to deeply penetrate and form a robust bond. Next, we repair any cracks, fissures, or spalling using Crackbond JF—a fast-setting, two-part epoxy patch that is DOT-approved and NSF 61 certified. This restores your floor’s structural integrity before any coating is applied.
Step 2: Primer/Base Coat (Moisture Barrier) Application (Day 1)
What other companies won’t tell you is that moisture rising from beneath your concrete can ruin a coating. Without proper protection against hydrostatic pressure, moisture vapor causes bubbling, blistering, and total failure. For the strongest possible bond to the concrete, we apply Sherwin-Williams Resuflor 3746—an industrial-grade epoxy engineered to withstand chemical spills, heavy machinery, and high foot traffic. We pour the epoxy directly onto the floor and work it into the open concrete pores using notched squeegees and rollers at a 10 mil thickness to ensure maximum adhesion and a uniform, seamless finish built for long-term performance.
Step 3: Decorative Flake Full Broadcast (Day 1)
Our Resuflor Deco Flakes are hand-broadcast to rejection directly into the wet epoxy base coat (meaning the wet resin is completely saturated until no more flake can be absorbed), creating a permanent chemical bond. Applied at a nominal 1.5 mm thickness, this full-flake broadcast conceals minor surface imperfections while providing the luxurious look of custom granite. Beyond aesthetics, the flake layer adds exceptional resistance against chemicals, abrasion, and daily wear. Choose from our curated color palette to complement your home. It’s the perfect blend of style and durability that turns plain concrete into a vibrant, functional living space. An overnight cure ensures a strong bond in preparation for the next step.
Step 5: Protective Clear Coat Application (Day 2)
We lock in your design and build a rock-solid defense using Sherwin-Williams Polyguard 85 polyaspartic clear coat. Unlike traditional epoxies that yellow and fade under UV light, this high-performance topcoat retains its clear, vibrant finish for years. Applied with a squeegee and back-rolled to achieve an “orange peel” texture, it gives you the ideal combination of anti-slip traction, chemical resistance, and simple, low-maintenance cleaning…a floor that is truly built to outlast!

Step 3: Decorative Quartz Broadcast (Day 2)
Our Resuflor Deco Quartz are hand-broadcast to rejection directly into the wet epoxy base coat (meaning the wet resin is completely saturated until no more quartz can be absorbed), creating a permanent chemical bond. Applied at a nominal 1.6 mm thickness. An overnight cure ensures a strong bond in preparation for the next step.
Step 4: Clean in Preparation for Build Coat (Day 3)
We scrape the cured surface to remove sharp edges and recover excess quartz. After a final scraping pass ensures a smooth, even profile, we thoroughly vacuum the floor to clear away all loose particles.
Step 5: Build Coat Application (Day 3)
We lock in your design and build a rock-solid defense using Sherwin-Williams Polyguard 85 polyaspartic clear coat. Unlike traditional epoxies that yellow and fade under UV light, this high-performance topcoat retains its clear, vibrant finish for years. Step 6: Decorative Quartz Broadcast – Jewel Layer (Day 3)
Quartz is broadcast to rejection into the wet resin. Because quartz granules are dense and slightly translucent compared to standard vinyl color chips, this second broadcast builds critical mil thickness, locks in dynamic color depth, and creates an exceptionally durable, slip-resistant profile across the floor.
Step 7: Clean in Preparation for Final Application (Day 4)
We scrape the cured surface to remove sharp edges and recover excess quartz. After a final scraping pass ensures a smooth, even profile, we thoroughly vacuum the floor to clear away all loose particles.

Step 2: Silica Sand Epoxy Slurry Application (Day 2)
Typically a blend of 100% solids epoxy resin, liquid hardener, and fine silica sand—a slurry coat is applied to level heavily pitted, eroded, or uneven concrete. Applied with a pin rake or flat squeegee to fill surface voids and cracks, the slurry seals pinholes that would otherwise cause outgassing and pinhole defects in the moisture mitigation layer. Once cured, this dense, high-strength patch creates a uniform, non-porous substrate that ensures the subsequent moisture barrier base coat achieves continuous film thickness and maximum adhesion across the entire slab.
Step 3: Clean in Preparation for Primer/Base Coat (Moisture Barrier) Application (Day 3)
We scrape the cured surface to remove sharp edges and burrs. After a final scraping pass ensures a smooth, even profile, we thoroughly vacuum the floor to clear away all loose particles. Inspect for outgassing and/or pinholes.
Step 4: Primer/Base Coat (Moisture Barrier) Application (Day 3)
For the strongest possible bond to the concrete, we apply Sherwin-Williams Resuflor 3746—an industrial-grade epoxy engineered to withstand chemical spills, heavy machinery, and high foot traffic. Next, we scrape the cured surface to remove sharp edges and recover excess quartz. After a final scraping pass ensures a smooth, even profile, we thoroughly vacuum the floor to clear away all loose particles.
Step 7: Build Coat Application (Day 4)
An intermediate binder coat of epoxy resin is applied to receive the second and final quartz broadcast.
Step 8: Decorative Quartz Broadcast – Jewel Layer (Day 4)

Because quartz granules are dense and slightly translucent compared to standard vinyl color chips, this second broadcast builds critical mil thickness, locks in dynamic color depth, and creates an exceptionally durable, slip-resistant profile across the floor.
